Linkin Park launch a new era, with a new singer, new music, and an upcoming tour.

Linkin Park is back, seven years after the death of frontman Chester Bennington, with a new singer and a new album, and a tour to boot. On Thursday, September 5, the band announced the addition of vocalist Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara) and drummer Colin Brittain (6 Flip, Illenium, One OK Rock), who join the existing lineup of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn.

The band has quietly prepared the relaunch over the last few years, announcing their first new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” from their upcoming album, From Zero, which releases on November 15 via Warner Records. The album is the band’s first since 2017 and the suicide of Chester Bennington.

On Friday, the band joined Apple Music host Zane Lowe for an in-depth, candid conversation about the band’s legacy and its seven-year journey to new music, as well as their plans for the future.

About their new era, Mike Shinoda said, “Before Linkin Park, our first band was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

“The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created,” Shinoda continued. “We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

Linkin Park is launching six upcoming arena shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota, as part of their From Zero World Tour. The general on-sale launched on Friday, while the first show kicks off on September 11.
