Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton claim top honors at the 59th annual ACM Awards. Wilson won Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Event of the Year, while Stapleton took home awards for Album of the Year, Male Entertainer of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
The 59th annual ACM Awards, held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas and hosted by 16-time ACM Awards winner Reba McEntire, saw some powerful performances in addition to the awards ceremony. Luke Combs led with eight nominations, while Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney — the most nominated woman this year — tied in second place with six nominations.
The star-studded performances included sets from Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, a duet from Blake Shelton and wife Gwen Stefani, Nate Smith featuring Avril Lavigne, and Post Malone’s first performance at a country music awards show. Malone is dropping his first country album later this year.
Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton, who cleaned up the night by taking home the show’s most coveted awards, both gave stunner performances; Stapleton surprised music fans everywhere by bringing Dua Lipa onstage for a killer performance alongside his wife Morgane.
Wilson ultimately won Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Event of the Year, while Stapleton took home awards for Album of the Year, Male Entertainer of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year. Wilson’s win for Music Event of the Year was shared with first-time nom Jelly Roll for their collaboration on his “Save Me.”
Other big winners of the night included Megan Maroney and Nate Smith (Female/Male Best New Artists), Jessie Jo Dillon (Best Songwriter), and Old Dominion (Best Group). Unsurprisingly, Luke Combs took home Single of the Year for his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” and Jordan Davis won Song of the Year for “Next Thing You Know.”
