Since our founding in 2018, we have acquired over 100 catalogs of all sizes, genres, and rights types. Role Overview

The CFO will provide comprehensive leadership on all financial aspects of Open On Sunday’s music-related intellectual property acquisitions and its management company. This role requires expertise in preparing financial projections, developing strategy, leading negotiations, managing accounting functions, directing tax analysis and understanding entertainment assets, specifically music. The candidate will cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including Open On Sunday’s investors/creditors, major music publishers, record labels, and third party service providers, such as auditors and valuation agents. Additionally, the CFO is expected to provide counsel and insight in the asset acquisition process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial reporting and analysis efforts to provide insights into Open On Sunday and its managed portfolios.
  • Manage all accounting, treasury, budgeting, tax planning and related functions.
  • Manage third party valuation and auditing processes for OOS and its managed portfolios.
  • Work with Senior Leadership on strategic planning, add-on acquisition analysis, and team development.
  • Work closely with CEO on creditor and investor relations, including management of all lender processes.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders, including CFOs and department heads at major publishers, record labels, distributors, and PROs
  • Delegate and supervise external resources, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences required, Masters degree highly preferred.
  • Proven experience within the financial management or acquisition department of a major record label, music publisher, distributor or equivalent music service.
  • Proven experience in investment banking, consulting or similar.
  • Direct involvement in music catalog transactions (including the purchase and sale of master recordings, compositions, and related assets), entertainment-related asset financings, and/or entertainment-related company mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong excel proficiency.
  • Previous accounting and/or audit experience.
  • Strong drafting skills with the ability to independently prepare presentations and supporting documents.
